Tissot watches ambassador Danica Patrick vote
Racing car driver Danica Patrick has come third after the Williams' sisters in a poll of the most popular female sporting stars.
According to a poll of more than 2,220 adults in the US, the Tissot watches ambassador is third most liked with the American public after Serena and Venus Williams, the tennis-playing superstars. Serena just edged it over her sister to come top of the list.
Other female athletes who proved well-liked with voters included tennis stars Maria Sharapova and Anna Kournikova and former soccer star Mia Hamm.
Retirees still obviously though of fondly by US sports fans also included tennis players Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova, who tied for tenth place on the list.
In the men's list, golf star Tiger Woods was voted the nation's most admired athlete, despite being hit by a series of high profile scandals including infidelity claims and a car crash which allegedly followed a row with his estranged wife.
Woods tied in the top spot with basketball legend Kobe Bryant.
