'More tickets sold' to see Tissot watches amb
It has been estimated that between 10,000 and 15,000 extra tickets were sold to a NASCAR event so people could go and see Tissot watches ambassador Danica Patrick.
Chris Powell, Las Vegas Motor Speedway president, made the predictions following the Shelby American Sprint Cup, the Las Vegas Business Press reported.
The Tissot watches ambassador the only female NASCAR racer at the time was competing in her last race in the competition before heading back to the IndyCar circuit.
There was an estimated attendance of 140,000 according to Powell, with the tickets going at $49 (£32) each.
Mary Grace Voss, a vendor at one of the concession stands inside the speedway's Neon Garage area, said Danica Patrick hats and shirts were sold out.
The racer recently said on her Twitter account: "I am going to miss driving the stock car (and the people), but it is time to get the IndyCar season started."
However, she vowed to return to NASCAR which is sponsored by Tissot watches - on June 26th.
